Book of Dead Slot Review

Book of Dead is one of four free online slots games developed by Cryptic Studios. In the tradition of classic arcade games, Book of Dead tries to blend fun text based arcade action with puzzle and logic skills. You take on the role as an archeologist who has landed on an ancient book which contains some cryptic clues regarding an ominous and sinister group of killers. If you succeed in completing the various puzzles within the time given, you will uncover the truth behind the dead men. Book of Dead is a fun game that can be quite addictive, even when considering its lack of content.

As soon as you fire up the game, you are immediately greeted by a graphic trailer of the Book of the Dead scene. From here, the game takes its basic mechanics and follows them through quite successfully. Overall, Book of Dead feels more like a traditional slot machine, not doing much of anything but performing what it does well competently. Book of Dead uses a simple, but easy to use puzzle mechanic coupled with a nice visual trailer to get you hooked on the game.

Book of Dead has a single play style - play through all of them at your leisure. You start off with two symbols, and these represent your hands which you'll use to spin the reels. The first level is the hardest, since all of the available spins will require you to use your left or right hands. Once you have passed this level, you can continue using your left or right hands to spin any number of times you desire until you run out of spins. Book of Dead features four difficulty levels, starting off easy and getting harder as you progress through the levels. This feature is similar to that of the regular slots, where the higher you go, the more difficult the levels become.

Book of Dead also uses a nice little graphics trailer to give you an idea of some of the effects the symbols will have when you place them in the chosen symbol. When you place a symbol in the wrong symbol, Book of Dead will pop up a pop up screen to tell you which symbol to replace it with. As you move through the levels, Book of Dead also awards you points based on how well you match the right symbol with the right number of spins. You get five points for matching a golden egg, ten for matching a red egg, and so on. You can also earn extra lives by matching the right symbol to the right number of spins, but these lives are only available if you earn more lives in Book of Dead than you lose in the slots before.

Book of Dead's main trick is its unique combination of the classic slots mechanics and the random number generator. You start off by laying down your coins in the game center, selecting one of the two payment slot styles, and then watching the slots spins and waiting for them to land on the pre-determined pattern. When gold symbol lands, Book of Dead will deduct ten lines from your score, and when it lands on a red egg, your ten lines are doubled.

You have to use the Book of Dead wisely, though, because you're not just playing against the computer - there are an average of ten other players at any time playing Book of Dead slots. These players use the icons on their side to show where the Book of Dead icons land, and they place their spins accordingly. The icons have different values ranging from stars for multi-line spins, to hearts for single-line spins.
